Supporting and growing the Aboriginal tourism sector

Through ATWA and our support staff, we have developed a number of programs to work in meeting our objectives and produce successful outcomes. By supporting new and existing Aboriginal tourism businesses and young people wanting to create career in this sector, the whole community benefits.

Business Support Hub

Business Support Hub is designed to assist with building essential administration skills, productivity and best practice, the Support Hub Coordinators assist with implementation and training of accounting software, scheduling, online booking systems and improving operational efficiency. There is also guidance in marketing through social media and online presence.

Aboriginal Tourism Academy (ATA)

a more intensive mentoring program that partners a mentor with an Aboriginal business owner mentee, to set them up for success, by developing business systems, product design, marketing, trade distribution and partnerships. The mentor develops an action plan and works within an allocated budget to support through training, business collateral, software and essential business tools

Youth Program

By supporting young Aboriginal people to gain skills needed by tourism businesses, culture and tradition is fostered, developed in families and communities, and shared with the broader public. Tourism brings community and cultural pride, particularly to youth.
